Brahms Requiem – Vail’s Organ Transcription?

I’m told that James Vail did a transcription of the wind/brass parts for Brahms Requiem, allowing it to be performed with srings, timpani and organ (using the original string and timpani parts).   Anyone have any experience with using this transcription and could make recommendations for/against?   Thanks!   Alan Rothenberg Philadelphia, PA
