Show Choir Custom Arrangements
I am in the position this year to start a competitive show choir (thank you GLEE) and I am looking for custom arrangements. The arrangements would be for a SATB plus full band accompaniment. If you know a reliable source please let me know. I have searched showchoirbuzz.com and other arrangement websites but I want to […]
Pronunciation: “E’en the spirit of the truth” (Tallis)
My 20-voice chamber choir is working on Tallis’ “If Ye Love Me,” and I can’t quite seem to find a satisfactory pronunciation of the single-syllable word “spirit,” as in “e’en the spirit of truth.” Any suggestions? Since the word is applied to single notes (not two as in “spi-rit”), we first tried “spir’t.” And […]
A cappella opera
It’s not often that you get to hear "a concert-length a cappella opera that recounts the creation story of the ancient Zoroastrians" — while you watch the sun set over the Olympics. "Haptadâmã: The Seven Creations of Ancient Persia" by Seattle composer Eric Banks was premiered in the pavilion at Olympic Sculpture Park Friday evening, and […]
Student recital videos on the college web site
Are there copyright issues with putting a clip from a student’s piano recital, harp recital, or choral concert on the college web site? Let’s suppose the performance was Hindemith, Corigliano or Whitacre, someone still technically under copyright? We already have BMI, ASCAP and SEASAC licenses. Thanks David Ledgerwood
Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child
I am looking for suggestions for SATB settings of this spiritual for select/mixed college choir. Thanks David Ledgerwood

I’ve been asked to provide a song or medley of songs for a fund raising event with a circus theme “Under the Bigtop”. Does anyone have any song ideas? It could be a solo or small ensemble of singers (I’m at a girls’ high school). There might be dancing with the song as well. Any […]

Performance Venues in Italy
My choir will be travelling to Italy in May 2012. What are your favorite performance venues in Rome and the surrounding area, and Venice? Any “must see” and “must do” events? We are also planning a 4-5 day excursion to another site, possibly Salzburg or Prague or somewhere in Greece. Any suggestions?
