New Fundraising Method for Choirs in Suburban Detroit

October 28, 2010 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

Local church, synagogue and school choirs will get a chance
to perform holiday favorites and raise money Dec. 4 at Hiller’s
Markets.

Choirs will reserve a 30-minute time slot from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to
perform at a Hiller’s store in Plymouth, Northville, Ann Arbor,
Commerce Township or Union Lake. Shoppers will be able to make
donations to the participating choirs at Hiller’s registers.
Hiller’s Markets has pledged to match the donations during the
“Sing for Your Supper” fund-raiser.

“There have been massive budget cuts to music programs in
schools. This is a way we can help, and at the same time entertain
customers as they shop,” stated Justin Hiller, vice president of
Hiller’s Markets. “Hiller’s mission is to strengthen our community
and supporting music education is a vital part of that.”

Choirs can sign up for Sing for your Supper, by e-mailing CKC
Public Relations at info(a)ckcpublicrelations.com with the choir’s
name, the name of the person submitting the information and contact
information. All time slot reservations are taken on a first come,
first served basis.
