December 6, 2020 by Adam Paltrowitz 1 Comment

Is your entire winter concert season cancelled? Mine is.

Are you just counting down the days until break?

Are you just killing time, rehearsal after rehearsal, hoping to survive with your sanity intact?

Would you like some productive ideas that could energize your choral program?

    FIND REPERTOIRE!
Transform this catastrophic time for choral conductors into an opportunity to prepare your future programs.
The Musica International database is a fantastic tool for designing programs according to a theme, or according to an anniversary of composer or writer, or… There are about 200,000 titles comprehensively described directly available under your fingertips. You can combine several search criteria to refine your searches. For many titles you’ll find multimedia links like a video, the text, its translation in different languages, the pronunciation by a native locutor, an image of one or more pages of the score…
If you are a member of ACDA, you benefit even from a “full unrestricted privileged access” to the database, by accessing through the https://acda.org website (go to the repertoire section). If not, access directly to https://www.musicanet.org, where you can create an account (free with a few limitations, or a full unrestricted access by making a donation).
Taka also the time to visit the archives of the “Favorite pieces of the month” section, active since 1999 !
Other federations like Choral Canada also offer privileged access to Musica from their “For members only” section of their wzbsite. Check…
    Enjoy !
