October 8, 2012 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

By D.W. Nutt
ITHACA, NY — After 35 years with Ithaca College’s School of Music, Lawrence Doebler will retire as director of choral activities at the end of this academic year.

Doebler arrived in Ithaca in 1978. Over the years he led vocal ensembles around the United States and Ireland, where under his direction they performed at Carnegie Hall and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  He also served as the music director for the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca for 26 years. The church recently christened its music library the Doebler Music Library.
