“Gypsy Love Songs” (Brahms’ “Zigeunerlieder”) scores available

May 20, 2015 by Ken Malucelli Leave a Comment

As a follow-up to my post on the new CD of these pieces, I realize I should’ve posted as New Publications.
To clarify: the new song cycle, “Gypsy Love Songs,” is set to the music of Brahms’ “Zigeunerlieder,” Op. 103 Nos. 1-11 and Op. 112 Nos. 1-4.  I’ve taken all 15 numbers, rearranged their order, written all new period-appropriate-style English poems about the various aspects of love, and expanded the original single-piano accompaniment into a more demanding one for piano four hands.
The following printed editions are available in pdf:
SATB + piano four hands; SATB vocal parts only;
SA + piano four hands; SA vocal parts only;
SATB + piano-strings quartet; SA + piano-strings quartet;
piano four hands instrumental only; piano-strings quartet instrumental only.
Excerpts from the new CD can be heard on my Web site, kenmalucelli.com. Click on Secular Choral, scroll down to bottom and click on blue play tabs.
Thanks for your interest and consideration.
