Free Christmas Carols

October 24, 2016 by Gary Rader Leave a Comment

MusicEase Software has released a free program, Free Christmas Carols. Free Christmas Carols provides transposable, customizable sheet music and MIDI files for 10 traditional public domain Christmas carols:

  • Away In A Manger
  • Deck The Hall
  • Good King Wenceslas
  • Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
  • It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
  • O Come All Ye Faithful
  • O Little Town Of Bethlehem
  • Silent Night
  • The First Noel
  • We Three Kings Of Orient Are

Songs can be transposed to any key and displayed as SATB or melody only.

Music can be zoomed to any size, and verses can be displayed using any font/size. The music can then be quickly reformatted (i.e., cast off) and justified to accommodate such changes.

Verses can be re-arranged into any order and/or deleted. Verses can also be exported to a text file.

Chord names/guitar fret diagrams can optionally be included.

Music can be displayed as standard round notes, shape notes (e.g., Sacred Harp) or tablature.

Any general MIDI instruments can be used to play the music.

Many other customizations are supported.

Output produced (printouts, chord charts, MIDI files) is released to the public domain.

Available for both Windows and the Mac via http://www.musicease.com/virtualsongbooks.html. The Windows version is also available via http://download.cnet.com/Free-Christmas-Carols/3000-2133_4-77394389.html at Download.com.
