COMPOSITION SPOTLIGHT ~ by Jack Senzig

(The Composition Showcase is a unique resource for conductors.   Choral composers are allowed to share only a few of their best works.  Each week we offer you the best of the best on a silver platter.   The Silver Platter Award winners are works that your choirs will love to sing and your audiences will love to hear)

Silver Platter Award Winner:
Remember by Brad Burrill SSAA and piano (Click here for PDF and here for AUDIO)

Level: High School or Higher
Uses: General Concert Use
Program Themes: Death and Remembrance
This Piece Would Program Well With:   The Tonic of Wildness  by Braeden Ayres available on the Composition Showcase

One of my all time favorite contemporary composers, Brad Burrill paints with a colorful brush.  His works in general are full of interesting rhythm and fulfilling harmonies.  This piece in particular is rich and heart connected.   Warning: May no be safe for those who do not wish to weep.  The Rossetti poem itself is powerful but with Burrill’s delicate pen at work, it is quite moving.  The ending is worth the journey.

Remember is available from the composer: brad(a)bradburrill.com
