Though the choral season is a couple months along now, we are closing in on that time of year when it seems we are all rushing from concert to concert. Thus it seems a good idea to be reminded of the need to insist that those in our audience turn off their cellphones.
At the risk of reinforcing a co-worker's opinion that one is a dinosaur, there are certain events where ubiquitous techno-gadgetry should be considered an unwelcome guest. Foremost among those environments is a live concert. For those who disagree, we respectfully submit the following video of a lovely Haydn concerto that is utterly destroyed by a cell phone.
