Those were very good examples to make “subito” very real. The sudden change to ‘piano’ really makes you notice and pay attention to Choir B.
The term SUBITO is one of my favourites because somewhere along the line a teacher told me to remember that it means ‘sudden’ by thinking of ‘subito’ as if it were ‘stub a toe’ which is a very SUDDEN happening. I obviously never forgot that one.
I don’t know this piece, but I did find the subito example to be more musically interesting. Could be my headset, but I did not perceive a dynamic change in example A.
