This international showcase of choral music goes so far beyond the scope of anything that the American Choral Directors Association has ever assisted in creating, it is impossible to offer comparisons. This world choral event takes place over the expanse of eleven days, and will feature the ACDA International Choral Academy on July 8-9, in the center of the calendar of performances and activities.
The ACDA International Choral Academy is open to any participant, regardless of whether or not they have a choir participating in the WCG events. Our International Choral Academy results from the work of ACDA’s national educational efforts, and in particular, the work of Dr. Scott Dorsey. This event is hosted by the leaders of Interkultur. Clinicians for the Choral Academy include composers Ivo Antognini (Switzerland), Vytautas Miskinis (Lithuania), Anders Jalkeus (The Real Group/Sweden), as well as Jennifer Tham (Singapore), Ronald Smart (Australia), Augustus Hill (USA), Levente Gyonghosi (Hungary), and Alan Alder (USA). It will be my honor to present the ACDA Brock Compositions to our attendees from outside the U.S. as a part of this Academy.
Welcome to another part of ACDA’s international summer of 2012.
