(By Dan Lincoln) Throughout the past month we’ve seen Cincinnati’s unique spirit of community collaboration come alive as we continue to prepare for the largest international arts event in our region’s history.
One shining example is ArtWorks’ ‘Singing Mural’ (pictured below) which was unveiled on October 3. Created in honor of Cincinnati’s deep musical heritage and the 2012 World Choir Games, the mural features a cast of famous Cincinnati faces in song. I can’t think of a better way to welcome hundreds of choirs from dozens of countries to Cincinnati USA.
The ‘Singing Mural’ was designed by Cincinnati-native and nationally renowned artist C.F. Payne. We announced this month that Payne will partner with us by designing and creating the 2012 World Choir Games commemorative posters.
We were pleased to announce that Cincinnati community leader Lajuana Miller will serve as our Director of Volunteer Services. We couldn’t be more excited for what she has in store to ensure the dedicated involvement of volunteers throughout the region.
Last week, key members of our marketing team traveled to Germany for a 2012 World Choir Games Marketing Summit with the INTERKULTUR marketing team. The meetings were yet another opportunity for increased collaboration and we were successful in establishing a firm roadmap for marketing and media operations.
