The only thing I’m looking forward to is choir . . .

August 12, 2011 by philip copeland Leave a Comment

School is starting again. (surprise)

I know many of you are in class already – I start later this month.
I saw this remark on twitter today:

“I got my school schedule today.  The only thing I’m looking forward to is choir.”

Believable, isn’t it?  This particular student needs to work on spelling, of course, but we need to remember that our course is sometimes the brightest spot in their day.

After being away from quite the active schedule of years past, I find that I too (as a conductor) look forward to choir again… and again … and again!!  For me, it is the rejuvenating energy that flows back and forth between choristers and conductor that makes me so happy that I chose (or was chosen for) this particular part of the music world.  Thanks, Philip, for reminding us of this fabulous partnership in rehearsals and services and concerts, and its mission for all of us:  the Joy of Choir !

:). It’s not only school. I have members of both my amateur
and professional choirs here in korea that say the thing that gets
them through their work weeks is choir rehearsal. Amazing
considering how much Of a nut-job I am!

Phillip, you’re doing something right there, that’s for
    sure!
