I had the most fortunate opportunity to work with the choirs from Brigham Young University this past week. It was a wonderful, maybe even life-changing, experience.
Ron Staheli easily ranks in the top tier of incredible collegiate choral conductors. I've known of his outstanding musicianship through his recordings and reputation. I was astounded, however, at the extremely high level of ALL the choirs at BYU. Conductors Rosalind Hall and Jean Applonie direct the other choirs and the total number of students involved numbers around 500 . . . five hundred passionate, respectful, insightful, and spiritual students.
In the coming days, I'll share more of what I learned from the experience. For now, enjoy his group singing Mawby's "Ave Verum Corpus" . . . . and make plans for Chicago.
