Conducting lesson February 1, 2011 by Allen H Simon Leave a Comment They’re working on conducting Wagner’s Ring, but I think the lesson would apply equally to choral music: h/t Podium Speak

Kind of reminds of Oscar Levant’s comment on Bernstein when he said, “Lenny uses the orchestra to accompany his conducting.” I’ve seen this student somewhere; in the field of comedy, he could occupy an acre of Whit! Whatever, the orchestra did follow well, proving that they could count, even while watching the leaders. Is this the lesson/goal for choral singers? I like it, Allen.
