Chilcott composes ACDA ringtone

January 1, 2010 by philip copeland Leave a Comment

Very cool:

Bob Chilcott has composed a ringtone for ACDA as we enter our 51st choral year as an Association, and it is FREE to ACDA members and available now for downloading. To DOWNLOAD your free SSAATTBB ACDA Ringtone, simply LOGIN with your membership number, or Renew/Join ACDA. The Ringtone, along with the "ACDA Ringtone" composition by Bob Chilcott, are both available here.

The ACDA Ringtone is rendered through high-pitched strings for easy call detection, although the original composition is for eight-part voices. The first and second sopranos are in canon; altos shift the key from minor to major; tenors contribute a minimalistic accompaniment; and basses offer a trendy major second pedal point.
