Who would you recommend as an All State Conductor of a 7-8 grade choir (East Coast preferable)?

I am starting a new school program.  My SSA group is primarily ninth.  My mixed group has a pretty wide disparity in ability.  Looking for some pieces to start the year with.  Suggestions, please???
