experience with a choral scholar (or assistant conductor)
I would like to hear from anyone who has had experience with either a choral scholar programme or having an assistant conductor. How have you divided the duties? What have been the advantages, expectations, difficulties, etc. etc. Looking forward to your collective wisdom!
500,000 views Lessons from YouTube

Key to the success is first off to have a musical performance that will be interesting to people all over the world, […]

Anybody know where I can get a copy of a men’s piece by Nikolai Golovanov – Slava. Edinorodnii sine (Glory. The only begotten son), Op. 5 No. 5. I have a recording of it, and would love to do it, but Musica Russica doesn’t carry it, and I’m sort of at a loss as to where […]

Looking for “Who shall speak for the people?” text by Carl Sandburg, male choir & piano
Back in the ’60s & ’70s, the Augustana College Choir’s Wennerberg Chorus (all male) directed by Henry Veld, performed the aforementioned several times. I was quite taken with it but don’t remember the composer. I have tried many obvious resources unsuccessfully. Has anyone any ideas? As a first year teacher, I’m not sure what to do with the last few weeks of school once our final concert is done. I teach high school choir and have about 80 kids in my main choir and we meet every other day for 90 minutes. Any suggestions?

Music Monday
More than 700,000 Canadian students connected – and sang – with schools around the world Monday. Celebrated the first Monday of May each year since 2005, Music Monday has Canadian students singing the same song at the exact same time. Only this year, there was a twist. Thanks to videoconferencing, the students […]
