We are happy to announce that the World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM), one of the biggest events of the International Federation for Choral Music, will be held in Turkey from 25th to 30th of April 2023 with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The event will be organized by the Turkish representative of IFCM, the Choral Culture Association.
The event promotes artistic excellence, cooperation and exchange, by bringing together the finest choirs and choral leaders for performances, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and choral reading sessions. The theme of 2023, “Changing Horizons”, aims to introduce as many singing traditions as possible from across the globe.
Here is the list of the invited choirs for the WSCM 2023 Istanbul: Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (Estonia), Batavia Madrigal Singers (Indonesia), Fayha National Choir(Lebanon), Georgia State University Singers (USA), Leioa Kantika Korala (Spain), Le Chant Sur La Lowé (Gabon), Orfeón San Juan Bautista (Puerto Rico), Sofia Vokalensemble (Sweden), Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir(Taiwan), Turkish State Choir (Türkiye) and Vancouver Youth Choir (Canada). Selected for their artistry as well as their concert programing’s connection with the symposium’s theme “Changing Horizons,” each choir is an outstanding representation of its region and style.
