The William Baker Festival Singers, a works by 50-voice semi-professional chorale based in Kansas City, opens its 26th concert season on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 3:00 PM, in the nave of the historic St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1307 Holmes Street in downtown Kansas City, MO. The award-winning ensemble has toured 14 states and the district of Columbia with performances in the Washington National Cathedral and NYC’s Trinity Wall Street Church. The November 5 program is entitled “Music Down in My Soul” and will include the Kansas City premier of British composer Edmund Jolliffe’s “Wessobrunn Prayer,” along with works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Norman Dello Joio, Eriks Esenvalds, Knut Nystedt, and Anton Bruckner, along with the Festival Singers’ signature early American hymns, spirituals and gospel songs.
