The award-winning William Baker Festival Singers will perform a benefit concert to support Hillcrest Transitional Housing (HillcrestKC.org) on Tuesday, May 7, 7:30 PM, at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 416 SE Grand Avenue in Lee’s Summit, MO. Admission is free, but donations will be received to support the charity. 100% of donated funds will support Hillcrest Transitional Housing. A wine and cookie reception will follow the concert.
The program will include works by Norman Dello Joio, Edmund Jolliffe, Johannes Brahms, Anton Brucker, along with spirituals and gospels.
Hillcrest Transitional Housing is a unique organization as it works to eradicate homelessness by teaching skills of accountability and self-sufficiency. Clients of the program are given support to move from the street to safe shelter, then given practical skills that lead toward personal responsibility and entrance into productive society. The success rate of the program is very high.
