Varna International presents Professor Marin Chonev Choral Festival
May 28–June 6, 2027 in Columbia, South Carolina
Varna International invites choirs, directors, and individual singers to join us in Columbia, South Carolina, for the Professor Marin Chonev Choral Festival—an immersive celebration of choral music, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
Presented as part of the Varna International Music Academy and Muzika! Festival, the Festival offers 4-, 7-, and 10-day residency options with opportunities for ensemble coaching, showcase performances, workshops, and collaborative music making with singers and conductors from the United States and abroad.
A highlight of the 2027 Festival will be Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, performed with the Festival Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jim Taylor.
University, community, church, youth, and independent choirs are welcome, as are qualified individual singers. Come sing, learn, perform, and build lasting musical connections in a vibrant international festival setting.
