The Susquehanna Chorale, a nationally acclaimed adult chamber ensemble of 40 auditioned singers, will present its spring concert series, My Favorite Things, May 15-17, under the direction of Artistic Director, Founder and Conductor, Linda L. Tedford.
The series begins on Friday, May 15 at Derry Presbyterian Church, Hershey, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 16 at St. James Episcopal Church, Lancaster, 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, May 17 at Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, 4:00 p.m.
My Favorite Things features Linda Tedford’s favorite pieces throughout her 45-year tenure. Conducting her final concerts before stepping down from the podium, the concert features American composers in honor our nation’s 250th birthday celebration. To be performed are Dan Forrest’s The Music of Living and Shalom, Mack Wilberg’s Bound for the Promised Land and My Song in the Night, Shawn Kirchner’s Bright Morning Stars and Unclouded Day, For the Sake of Our Children by Jefferey Ames, Sure on This Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen, as well as selections from Frostiana,Randall Thompson’s classic and beloved settings of poetry by Robert Frost. The concert concludes with a gospel arrangement of This Little Light of Mine followed by America and Make our Garden Grow from Candide.
Filled with joy, memories, and beautiful music, this concert honors Linda’s life – a life that has enriched countless lives and truly cultivated a deep love for choral music.
