Repertoire ranging from the Protest-ant Reformation to recent political invective and causes are presented on Sunday, November 16, by the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus. The 3 pm concert will be performed in The Lutheran Church of the Atonement, in Florissant, as part of the SLCC “Voices of Change” season.
Selections include diatribes by William Billings, Revolutionary choruses from Shostakovich, ‘agit-prop’ by Hanns Eisler, and Melissa Dunphy’s powerful “What Do You Think I Fought For At Omaha Beach?” Two new arrangements from the anti-war and Civil Rights movements have been created for the choir and this program by Orin Johnson. Of particular note is his elegiac “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?” The selections for this concert will all be sung a cappella, which ius a hallmark of the Chamber Chorus.
