The Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival is Europe’s premier festival for youth choirs, bands, orchestras, and Summa Ensembles. Since 2007, it has welcomed over 20,000 young musicians from 49 countries across five continents. Held each July in Vienna—on world-renowned stages such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the Wiener Konzerthaus—the festival creates an international environment where young artists connect through the universal language of music.
Starting in 2026, the SCL Festival will go on Tour all over the world. SCL On Tour will celebrate its premier August 6th until 11th 2026 in Sun City, South Africa. It aims to bring the original SCL Festival experience and values to Choirs and Orchestras situated in various host countries. At the same time, international ensembles are invited to the host country for an authentic local musical experience within a celebratory or competitive environment. SCL On Tour will create a platform for local and international Choirs and Orchestras to share, engage, exchange and connect through music. Like the SCL Festival, SCL On Tour offers a Competition, a non-competitive Celebration, educational opportunities through interactive workshops before and throughout the festival as well as additional performances for local audiences. In addition, the ensembles will learn about the host country and city through tours and other experiences. Esteemed international and local professionals will serve on the juries and lead workshops.
