Walk into your next choir rehearsal feeling prepared, capable, and confident. Learn how to prioritize what to play, practice more efficiently, and support your choir behind the keyboard with this 3-day online summer intensive for choral accompanists.
June 18-20, 2026 10-11am PST, LIVE on Zoom with Cori Belle, pianist
During our three days together, you’ll discover how to:
- Analyze harmonies and read voice parts in various combinations
- Triage a score
- Prioritize what to play (and what to leave out)
- Read SATB vocal parts in homophonic and polyphonic textures
- Navigate multiple entrances and make sense of dense passages
- Tackle melismas and voice crossings
You will receive a workbook for each day of class as a PDF download which contains all class materials and exercises for further practice. Each day we will meet for an hour on Zoom to walk through the workbook exercises, giving you real time practice analyzing and marking your score (access to a piano during the meeting is not required). Optional homework will be assigned for further practice after each meeting. Find support and encouragement in our Choral Accompanists Facebook group, and share your insights and successes each morning when we begin! Upon completing the intensive, you will have gained a “toolkit” of practical strategies to use in any future open score reading situation, lifetime access to the recordings, and ongoing support in our Facebook group.
It was a GREAT workshop, well planned/paced, solid information, great examples, and taught in such a way that pianists of different experience/abilities could all benefit. Thanks again! – Scott A
