New Tabakova Mass premiered in St. Louis

A new “Missa Brevis” lies at the heart of a concert by the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus this Sunday, October 2, at 3pm. It will be premiered in the presence of the composer who’s flying to the USA for the occasion. Other works in this celebratory season opener include anthems by E. W. Naylor, Sowerby and Charles Wood, Renaissance motets from Tallis & Rychnovsky, and the reprise of a past SLCC commission by the late Steven Stucky. Dan Forrest’s “Entreat Me Not” concludes this a cappella program sung in the resonant St. Louis Abbey. Tickets are available at the door and via the Chorus’s website.
