The New South Festival Singers culminates their 40th anniversary season with a “Bon Voyage to Piccolo Spoleto Concert” on the even of their 34 appearance at the Charleston, SC, festival. Sunday, May 4, 4:00 PM EDT, at the Mt Vernon Presbyterian Church in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs. Retiring Music Director Lynn Swanson will lead the ensemble in her final Atlanta-area performance. The program is free to the public and will include modern works by Blake Henson, Bobby McFerrin, Eriks Esenvalds and Daniel Gawthrop, in addition to the Festival Singers signature spiritual and gospel selections. New South Festival Singers was created in 1985 as Gwinnett Festival Singers in 1985 and known as William Baker Festival Singers Atlanta from 1998-2015. The 30-voice semi-professional ensemble specializes in short-form sacred a cappella repertoire.
