The New South Festival Singers, under the baton of Music Director Lynn Swanson, will present their annual Bon Voyage to Piccolo Spoleto Concert on Sunday, May 5, 2024, 4:00 PM, in the nave of the St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church, 571 Holt Road in Marietta, Georgia. The Festival Singers will be joined by the River Ridge High School Chorale under the direction of Allison Baccala. The concert is free to the public, with donations gratefully accepted.
Founded by William Baker in 1985 as Gwinnett Festival Singers and known as William Baker Festival Singers Atlanta from 1998-2015, the Atlanta-based a cappella choir specializes in short form classics, spirituals and gospels. They have performed to capacity audiences at the famous Charleston festival annually since 1989. Their 2024 program includes classic works by Faure, Fenzi, Sibelius, Brahms, Mendelssohn, along with spirituals and gospels in settings by William Dawson, Linda Twine, Rosephayne Powell.
