Music on the Hill is delighted to partner with The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum to present: Inspired by 52 Artists: Music for Voices, led by conductor Ellen Espenschied Dickinson.
This program of music for voices is inspired by the art and artists of the current special exhibition at The Aldrich, 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone.
The concert features pieces composed by women, setting texts by women and traditional texts. They include themes of earth and sky, joy and perseverance, work and play, introspection and exuberance, and love in many forms. There are many connections of this music to the exhibited art, and the art to this music.
We hope that each person will find inspiration in how the music and art intersect for them, and the ways the works depict the same ideas through different media.
