The Mozart Requiem Festival invites choirs and individual singers from around the world to Vienna to take part in a powerful musical experience centered around Mozart’s final masterpiece: the Requiem in D minor, K. 626. Each year, singers join forces with a professional orchestra and renowned conductor Christoph Ehrenfellner to bring this monumental work to life in one of Vienna’s breathtaking churches.
The festival is not just about the performance – it’s about artistic growth, international exchange, and in-depth rehearsal work. Participating choirs benefit from intensive rehearsals with the conductor and orchestra in Vienna, where interpretation, balance, and musical context are at the heart of the preparation process. Choirs are also invited to present their own repertoire.
In 2025, the festival also includes the world premiere of a new choral-orchestral work by Austrian composer Christoph Ehrenfellner, performed as part of the same concert program. This dialogue between Mozart and a living composer creates a meaningful bridge between centuries of musical expression.
The Mozart Requiem Festival is organized by Concerts-Austria, a Vienna-based company specializing in music and educational travel.
