The Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit, a summer only community chorus based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, will perform Donald McCullough’s “Holocaust Cantata” along with Amy Thropp’s “Kaddish for the Six Million” and Kim Andre Arnesen’s “Even When He Is Silent” as a commemoration of the Holocaust. Music Director Jennifer Lahasky will conduct soloists Megan Moore and Joshua Markley with cellist Larry Figg and pianist Geoffrey Wilcken, along with the 40-voice chorus. There will be two performances: Sunday, July 30, 4:00 PM and Monday, July 31, 7:30 PM in the nave of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 416 SE Grand Avenue in Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64063. Narrations will be read by local rabbis, and Dr. Shelly Cline of the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education will give opening remarks.
