Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble will perform Renaissance music extolling the virtues, glories and agonies of love and marriage – from the sacred to very secular – in its upcoming Fall concerts on the Westside and in the San Gabriel Valley.
The concerts will take place October 11, 2025, at 8 p.m. at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, 6700 W 83rd St., Westchester, and October 12, 2025, at 4 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 122 S. California Ave., Monrovia.
Jouyssance will sing both comical and serious madrigals, motets and chansons depicting all sides of love and marriage. Composers Francisco Guerrero, Claudio Monteverdi, Thomas Weelkes, Thomas Morley, Salamone Rossi, Thomas Tallis, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, and more will be featured.
Tickets are available in advance at http://www.jouyssance.org/current-season or at the door, at $25 (General Admission), $20 (Seniors/SCEMS members), or $10 for students with current school ID. Members of the American Choral Directors Association, as well as their students, can get in free with ID.
