Recent research has uncovered a treasure trove of medieval and Renaissance music by composers of diverse backgrounds — from the first born in the New World to cloistered Italian nuns. Jouyssance will perform select works from these collections, as well as two gorgeous motets by Vicente Lusitano, the first published composers of African heritage. Our musical journey takes us to Italy, Mexico and beyond for some astonishingly beautiful music.
