Come hear the Hudson Chorale sing her magnificent cantata Hiob, which features passages from The Book of Job, as Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s response. For two centuries, the fame of her brother has virtually hushed this work. We take great pleasure in helping to realize Hensel’s long deserved recognition as a preeminent nineteenth-century artist.
Vivaldi’s Gloria (RV 588) is not as commonly sung as the ever-popular (RV 589), yet it is just as brilliant and magnificent due to serendipity in choral history.
And come enjoy the sublime melodies and thrilling fugues of Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers,” Vesperae solennes de Confessore, a piece whose profound and intricate charms have been appreciated and adored since it was composed in 1780.
Under the direction of artistic director David Baranowski, the Hudson Chorale will perform with an orchestra and soloists Richard Lippold, bass; Francesca Federico, soprano; Allison Gish, contralto; and Joseph Klebanoff, foodle tenor.
The concerts will take place at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 25 North Broadway, Irvington, NY 10533, on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, at 3 p.m.
Tickets are available through https://bit.ly/juneconcert or from Hudson Chorale members for $30 apiece.
