Evergreen Voices Chorale Announces Winter Concert Series “Threads of Light”

Fresh from a successful summer tour across the Pacific Northwest, the Evergreen Voices Chorale is preparing to launch its winter concert season with an inspiring program of contemporary choral music and timeless seasonal favorites.

The 45-member ensemble, under the direction of Amelia Carter, will present two free concerts titled “Threads of Light” — on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 789 Oak Street, Seattle, WA 98101, and on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, 215 Maple Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402.

Joining the chorale will be Nathan Brooks, piano; Olivia Chen, violin; Samuel Ortiz, percussion; and Rachel Bennett, harp.

Celebrating Hope and Connection Through Music

“Music has the power to bring people together in moments of reflection, healing, and joy,” said Carter. “This program explores the light we find in one another during life’s most challenging and beautiful seasons. Every song tells a story of resilience, compassion, and shared humanity.”

The concerts will feature works by contemporary composers including Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, Elaine Hagenberg, Jake Runestad, and Sarah Quartel, weaving together themes of hope, remembrance, and renewal.

“Our repertoire moves through moments of quiet introspection to uplifting celebration,” Carter said. “We want audiences to leave feeling connected — reminded that even in uncertain times, community and music can guide us forward.”

Continuing a Tradition of Artistic Excellence

As the ensemble enters its 12th concert season, Carter says the dedication of the singers continues to inspire the group’s artistic vision.

“The commitment and artistry of these musicians is extraordinary,” she said. “It’s deeply rewarding to create meaningful performances together, and we’re excited to share this music with our community throughout the winter season.”
