The Cobb Summer Singers and Zimria Festivale Atlanta will perform Donald McCullough’s “Holocaust Cantata” in a special performance on Sunday, July 7, 4:00 PM, at the Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Road, Marietta, Georgia 30062. The program will also include Kim Andre Arnesen’s “Even When He Is Silent” and Amy Thropp’s “Kaddish in Memory of the Six Million.”
Amy Thropp, Founder and Music Director of Zimria Festivale Atlanta will conduct. The choirs will be joined by baritone Joshua Markley, soprano Mary Anne Valenti, cellist George Butler, and pianist Ivy Belk Pirl. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.ChoralFoundation.org/concerts
Both the Cobb Summer Singers, founded in 2006, and Zimria Festivale Atlanta, founded in 2014, are ensembles of the William Baker Choral Foundation. The Cobb Summer Singers, Lynn Swanson, Music Director, is a summer-only community chorus that presents annual masterworks. Zimria Festivale Atlanta is the community’s Jewish choral ensemble devoted to music of Jewish tradition and Jewish composers.
