Lenox, MA. The Cantilena Chamber Choir will present Coronation Music for choir, brass and organ for the most recent English Coronation of King Charles and selections of music for earlier coronations by Purcell and Handel Concerts at Trinity Church. The music for October 20thconcert will feature The Handel Coronation Anthem Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened (1727 Coronation of King Charles the 2nd), Holst’s O God Beyond All Praising, Andrew Llyod Weber’s Make a Joyful Noise and Tarik O’Regan’s Coronation Agnus Dei (2023 Coronation of King Charles III), Purcell’s I was Glad (1685 Coronation of James II) and more. A featured work on the program is John Rutter’s Winchester Te Deum, written for the installation James Atwell, a new dean for Winchester Cathedral in 2006.
