Caritas Chamber Chorale – Christmas Concerts

The World’s Desire celebrates Christmas, benefits African Mission
Caritas Chamber Chorale, directed by Barbara Sanderman, will present a series of three concerts of sacred choral music for Christmas, entitled The World’s Desire. A freewill offering benefits the Adorno Fathers’ Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.
The program celebrates Christ’s coming at Christmastime with a cappella choral music alternately reflective and spirited. Through the music, we contemplate Christ’s mother, his birth, and his redemptive sacrifice; and we welcome Christ – The World’s Desire – into our lives with ecstatic joy.
Featured works include Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo’s Spotless Rose, Edvard Grieg’s Ave maris stella and Peter Warlock’s Bethlehem Down, as well as exciting arrangements of well-known carols. Caritas will also present And have you come with us to dwell? by Composer in Residence and Assistant Conductor, Wayne Dietterick, who will conduct his piece and several others. The concert will be presented on:
• Friday, December 6, 2024, 7:30pm – Trinity Presbyterian Church, 367 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816
• Sunday, December 8, 2024, 3pm – Incarnation Church, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618
• Saturday, December 14, 2024, 8pm – The Shrine of St. Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, NJ 07980.
The concerts are free and open to the public. The entirety of a freewill offering will benefit the Pierluigi Fabbiani Nursery School, the Gianni Diurni Primary School, and the Foyer de l’Enfance Paolo Di Nardo Orphanage, run by the Adorno Fathers’ St. Francis Caracciolo Mission in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.
Since its founding in 2005, Caritas’ audiences have supported the Adorno Fathers’ St. Francis Caracciolo Mission in DRC, Africa through freewill offerings. Recent violence in the area, however, has compounded the needs of the people in this extremely poor area of the world.
