Welcome to Brighton International Festival Of Choirs! Four days of choral splendour in a traditional British seaside resort – Brighton! It’s the ‘happiest place in the UK!’
From 3-7th September 2020, Brighton will host its first ever international choral festival, and invites choirs from the UK and all over the world to join us for a four-day spectacular celebration of singing and choral music.
A variety of performance venues awaits, from majestic churches and the glorious gardens of the Royal Pavilion to Brighton’s famous Pier and the seafront itself! What better place to sing your heart out than beside the sea?
Organised by Surrey Music, Brighton International Festival of Choirs offers a high quality, high-profile yet accessible platform for choirs from the UK and all over the world to come together to perform, to share, to learn from each other, and to experience and enjoy the rich culture, distinctive heritage and diverse nature that Brighton has to offer.
All choirs will benefit from attending a range of choral masterclasses and quality workshops conducted by inspirational leaders. We are delighted to have secured the involvement of two eminent and high-profile judges and choral masterclass leaders – Dr Russell Robinson, Emeritus Professor of Music Education at the University of Florida, USA, and Ralph Allwood MBE DMus as well as many other distinguished choral conductors and specialists. Chttps://youtu.be/S41WnIEb_aAhoirs will have the great privilege of being taught one of Dr Russell Robinson’s own compositions by the very man himself, and will perform it together in St Peter’s Cathedral in a grand massed-choir performance!
