First Concert of 41st Season – Child of Wonder!
Welcome to the 41st season of the Bellevue Chamber Chorus! The Chorus is excited to open this season with Child of Wonder, a concert in remembrance of all children who have passed in the last year due to violence in this country and worldwide. Eric Whitacre’s ethereal piece “Child of Wonder” comes from his larger work The Sacred Veil for chorus, piano, and cello. Performances include Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem featuring Seattle-based organist William Bryant, along with other pieces for chorus, piano and cello including works by Sarah Quartel, Antonín Dvořák, and Shawn Crouch. The Chorus welcomes guest performers: Sarah Fletcher, soprano and Laura Kramer, cellist. Presented in the resonant and beautiful spaces of First Congregational Church of Bellevue and Seattle First Baptist’s newly remodeled sanctuary, this music offers a message of hope – life and light will shine through.
