Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, presents “From Celtic Shores: Songs from Scotland and Ireland” this May in Westchester and New York City. The program features arrangements of traditional Celtic melodies, such as “The Skye Boat Song” and the old Jacobite air “Loch Lomond”; settings of medieval texts by composer Michael McGlynn, including “Maid in the Moor” and “Nobilis Humilis” from the Orkney Islands; as well as American and Canadian compositions inspired by Celtic immigrants, including an arrangement of “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair” by Nathaniel Adams.
