Join Masterworks Chorale for a program that speaks to the power of hope and resilience in troubled times.
Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem is a powerful response to the ravages of war and the urgency of reconciliation and justice. Nathaniel Dett’s Chariot Jubilee offers a stirring counterpoint with its exuberant expression of the lionized spiritual Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.
Other repertoire, including I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes by Adolphus Hailstork, We Shall Walk Through the Valley by Undine Smith Moore and Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel by Moses Hogan, further advance a message of peace, commitment, and the enduring belief in a better future.
Special guest performers Saturday (Bradley Kinard, Baritone) and Sunday (The Lucy Kinchen Chorale). Also featuring Soprano Rabihah Dunn and Tenor Lee Steward.
Performed with chamber orchestra.
$20-$45.
Presented by Masterworks Chorale.
