Voices of Silicon Valley Auditions for our Summer 2021 project:

Voices of Silicon Valley are now inviting advanced singers to join our Summer 2021 program. Auditions will take place on Saturday May 22 at 1PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church in San Jose, 1100 Shasta Ave, San Jose, CA 95126

We are seeking singers with strong musicianship and sight reading abilities to join a staged production of Luciano Berio Cries of London, as well as several recent choral works meant to bring inspiration and solace to our community at this challenging time, as well as reflect on the joy of coming together safely after being apart.

Our Summer 2021 Program:

1. Luciano Berio Cries of London (8 singers + stage actors) – a modern masterpiece; 2. Selections from Reena Esmail Quarantine Madrigals. All proceeds from music sales go to CDC Crush the Covid campaign. 3. Flannery Cunningham – Anchorage (recorded by the Grammy award winning ensemble Roomful of Teeth) 4. Earth Song by Ticheli 5. Kariuki “Questions on the origins of creativity” 6. Main title song from a movie “Gladiator” with music by Hans Zimmer
Rehearsals will be held outdoors, following Santa Clara county health regulations on Saturdays in May and June in downtown San Jose, 2pm to 4:30, for a recorded performance in July.

About Voices of Silicon Valley:

founded 2014, VOSV is a vocal ensemble/chamber chorus that over the past 5 years has made a significant progress in expanding the range of possibilities for a choral/vocal performance, presenting interactive works for choir and audience/cell phones, rarely performed avant-garde masterpieces and traditional works combined with recent technology. VOSV performances received coverage from major Bay area TV channels, and the most recent album, “Voices of Our Time”, has been released on Orpheus Classical label receiving multiple reviews across international media.
