“Sonaré” is now holding auditions for ALTOS and TENORS. Sonaré is a year-long Young Artist Program sponsored by The Minuetto Music Festival and produced by The Continuo Arts Foundation. Designed to afford professional and aspiring young artists opportunities in performance, experience, and leadership, Sonaré members serve as Artists-in-Residence throughout the season for The Continuo Arts Civic Chorale, one of the Choirs-In-Residence in Carnegie Hall (where solo and cover opportunities are available), and are featured in concerts, cabarets, and The Minuetto Music Festival.
From vocal artists seeking a professional performance track, to working musicians and teachers wanting an outlet for performance and networking, Sonaré provides an outstanding platform for artistic growth, enrichment, and performance. Audition requirements include two contrasting selections, sight-reading, and an interview.
The Minuetto Music Festival is a week-long program in June that has seen great success in previous years with young artist winners both local and across the country. During the week, young artists attend master classes, the business of music classes, are scheduled in coachings, rehearsals, and perform in a Young Artist Showcase, as well as the Festival Finale Concert with Orchestra. All Sonare members also receive full scholarships to the Minuetto Festival Program, June 25 – 30, 2018.
Celebrating over ten years of music, inspiration, and opportunity, The Continuo Arts Foundation has made a notable impact on both the national and international music scene. Locally, Continuo offers New Jerseys most comprehensive intergenerational choral program, with seven choirs for singers of all ages, a music Conservatory offering private lessons, produces concerts, and premieres major choral and orchestral works in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Music Center at Strathmore. Making history, Continuo Arts was the first US organization to present a concert inside the Sistine Chapel, and has served as musical ambassadors around the world at prestigious international music festivals in Rome, Vatican City, Ireland, Czech Republic, and other world stages of note. Back at home, The Continuo Arts Symphonic Chorus is a Choir-In-Residence in Carnegie Hall, and was featured on the Paper Mill Playhouse main stage for forty-two shows premiering Disney’s, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, 9-11 Memorial Observance, and many other local community events.
