My name is Dana Taylor and I am music director of the women’s vocal ensemble, Angelus is dedicated to the performance of sacred music of varied religious traditions and historical periods and is comprised of six young women from the Mt. Vernon Senior High School Fine Arts Academy (Mt. Vernon, IN).
The ensemble will be on a concert tour to Northern Indiana and Michigan on June 4-10, 2019 and are seeking performance opportunities during that time period.
Our concerts include works ranging from medieval chant and polyphony to the American Sacred Harp tradition as well as contemporary Irish and American works. The balance of the program is a cappella and is about 1:15 minutes in length.
We do not seek direct compensation for our performance but ask permission to receive a free will offering and to sell our CD’s. As you might imagine, a tour is not without expense and we request that the sponsoring church guarantee a minimum of $500 in income for the performance. Should our offering and CD sales exceed $500, we would expect no additional support from your church.
Since 2010, the ensemble has performed over 100 concerts in 19 states. Recent concerts include appearances in Baltimore, MD, Hillsborough, NC, Montpelier, VT, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, St. Paul, MN, Washington, DC and Wilmington, NC.
In April of 2016, we made our Lincoln Center debut performing as a featured ensemble in Christopher Tin’s “Calling All Dawns”. In November of 2016, they performed a recital of early music with Dr. Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek (late of Anonymous 4). Jacqui joined us again on Dec. 16, 2018 for a seasonal Marian program.

If you would be so kind, please share this with your music director and/or Priest. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Warmest Regards,
Dana Taylor
