St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Poway, California is looking to hire a soprano section leader and soloist for its adult Coventry Choir. Section leaders sing with the parish choir at Thursday rehearsals 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and at Sunday Eucharist at 10:15 a.m. (9:15 a.m. call), September through early June. Additional services include monthly Sunday Evensongs, Holy Week, two services on Christmas Eve and Easter Day, and occasional holy days. Section leaders sing solos as needed and also comprise an octet that occasionally performs more advanced repertoire.
Applicants must possess excellent musicianship and sight-reading skills, collegiality and professionalism, and the ability and willingness to help lead and mentor a strong volunteer choir.
Base stipend for Thursday rehearsal and Sunday Eucharist is $400 per month, supplemented for additional calls.
