Searching for tenor and bass section leaders for church choir (Chicago, IL)

Glenview Community Church (Glenview, IL – a suburb of Chicago) is seeking tenors and basses to serve as section leaders for its Chancel Choir for the period of mid-October through mid-December 2023. Weekly rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30. Sunday worship services are at 10:00 a.m. with a 9:15-9:45 pre-service warm-up. All rehearsals and services are held at 1000 Elm Street in Glenview. Positions may be extended for a period in winter/spring of 2024 depending on need.
Interested candidates should demonstrate superior skills in sight reading, choral blend, intonation, the ability to sing in a variety of styles, and overall vocal agility. The ability to respond well to feedback and encourage/help volunteer singers is paramount.
Attendance and punctuality at all rehearsal/services is expected. If an absence is requested, an adequate substitute must be arranged by the singer well in advance.
Pay is $60 per call and paid at the end of each month.
