Princeton Pro Musica invites Tenors & Basses to Audition for coming season

August 9, 2019 by Mary Trigg Leave a Comment

Princeton Pro Musica is a friendly, adventurous, and supportive chorus of 110 members. The mostly volunteer chorus includes a core of professional singers as well as many music educators. We perform choral masterworks, little-known gems, and stirring new music under the direction of Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau. Our concerts are uplifting and inspiring to hear — and to perform.

This season, we will perform Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor on November 4, 2019 in Richardson Auditorium in Princeton. Our winter concert on December 15, 2019, will be Messiah & More! at the historic Patriots Theater in Trenton. On March 15, 2020, we will sing James Whitbourn’s Annelies in the Richardson Auditorium. On May 9, 2020 we’ll perform the Durufle Requiem and other works in the Princeton University Chapel.

Your audition will consist of several steps:
1. Vocalizing
2. Singing a prepared piece 2-3 minutes in length; please bring a copy of your prepared piece for the accompanist, and one for yourself
3. Sight-reading
4. If you wish to be heard as a professional, please bring an additional contrasting piece.

If accepted, here is what we will expect from you: Attendance at our weekly rehearsals on Tuesday nights, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. (There are a few extra rehearsals around concert time.)

Call to set up an appointment for your audition. Our phone number is: (609) 683-5122.
