Planning a performance of Haydn’s Creation?

September 6, 2016 by David Schildkret Leave a Comment

If you are planning a performance of Haydn’s Creation this season, please take a few moments to look at my new edition of the work.

Based primarily on the first edition, which was prepared under the supervision of Haydn and Van Swieten and is therefore the closest source to Haydn himself, this version presents the original English text in a manner that is both entirely singable and completely faithful to the sources. Additionally, the orchestral material clarifies and reconciles many of the problems with articulations and bowings in earlier editions.

You may find the edition on my website.
Click on the “Editions” tab to see the Haydn edition, along with numerous other works.
