Choir Section Leaders – SATB Positions

Zion Lutheran is seeking paid section leaders (all voices parts – SATB) to sing in the Church Choir beginning in September 2016. Auditions will be held each Wednesday evening in July from 6-8pm. Please see below and contact us to schedule an audition.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Is an undergraduate or graduate student in Voice Performance, or a voice principal studying Music Education, Church Music, and Theory/Composition, or Musicology; or already holds a degree/s in music with voice as a principal instrument.
• Has experience serving as a church or choir section leader in a paid/professional capacity
• Is highly skilled in voice performance, choral singing, sight-reading, and presents a positive and flexible attitude in their work as they encourage and uplift volunteer singers

DUTIES

• Sing weekly Sunday morning service (one service each Sunday at 10:30am – call time is 9 am). Rehearsals are optional but encouraged
• With strong vocal talent and skill, lead the volunteer singers win their section to excellence in choral music ministry, as the model singer and choir member in decorum, preparedness and accuracy
• Sing special/seasonal worship service and events as required; additional solos in worship services as scheduled by the Choir Master
• The choir ministers from September through May; additional work may be available for Section leaders during the choir’s summer break.

COMPENSATION

• Choristers are paid $75 per week (Sunday morning Service and Sunday morning rehearsal). Additional Compensation for special services and special rehearsals is negotiable.

• Those interested should include resume, headshot, references, and an audio sample (if possible)
• Interviews and auditions will be scheduled for those candidates who meet the qualifications. Candidates will be required to present two pieces in their voice part: one piece of their choice in addition to one piece chosen by the Choir Master.
